BREAKING: Cooper Kupp’s latest social media update has Packers fans anxiously awaiting a big decision. nhathung

The Green Bay Packers are among several teams showing interest in wide receiver Cooper Kupp, who was recently let go by the Los Angeles Rams. Reports suggest that Kupp is not expected to delay his decision for long.

Callahan: The Patriots should pursue Cooper Kupp — and they might just get him

According to Jordan Schultz, an NFL analyst with Fox Sports, it’s uncertain if Kupp will meet with teams during his free agency, but a verdict is anticipated soon. Besides the Packers, the Seattle Seahawks and Tennessee Titans are also considered potential destinations for Kupp, with speculations also linking him to the New England Patriots.

Kupp experienced a decline last season, and his efficiency metrics have been underwhelming. Nonetheless, he managed to achieve 67 receptions for 710 yards and six touchdowns in 12 games for the Rams in 2024. His market value is somewhat restricted due to his recent performance. Spotrac estimates Kupp could secure a two-year contract worth $22 million, with an annual average of $11 million.

New England Patriots Could Have Shot at Cooper Kupp

Comparable players include DeAndre Hopkins, Adam Thielen, Robert Woods, and Tyler Lockett. Hopkins recently inked a one-year, $6 million contract with the Baltimore Ravens. There are legitimate reasons to be wary if the Packers aim to add Kupp to their lineup. At 31, Kupp hasn’t completed more than 12 games in a season since his standout 2021 campaign, when he earned the titles of Super Bowl MVP and First-Team All-Pro.

While he maintains a respectable average in yards per game, his frequent injuries are a considerable concern. Despite these issues, Kupp remains relatively effective; last season, he achieved 1.99 yards per route run, surpassing his 2023 figure of 1.86, though still far off from his peak of 3.12 in 2021. Another pressing issue is how he would fit into the Packers’ wide receiver lineup.

Cooper Kupp Makes Definitive Statement About His NFL Playing Days After Playoff Loss

Throughout his NFL tenure, Kupp has taken 63.4% of his snaps in the slot. The Packers already feature Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks in similar roles, indicating a more pressing need for an outside receiver. If the financials align, acquiring Kupp could be a sensible move for Green Bay. With their potential offer likely on the table, all that’s left is to await his choice.
