BREAKING: DeMarcus Lawrence mends fences with a gracious message to Dallas Cowboys supporters after his previous criticism of his old team. nhathung

The Dallas Cowboys experienced a surprising turn of events recently when DeMarcus Lawrence decided to move on. Although the decision aligns with the Cowboys’ strategy to bring in younger talent on the defensive line, Lawrence remains one of the most cherished defensive figures in Dallas history. Lawrence expressed his gratitude to Cowboys fans through an emotional social media post on Saturday afternoon.

Parsons, Lawrence social media spat

“I have been privileged to wear the star and identify as a Dallas Cowboy throughout my NFL career. From the moment Jerry Jones called to draft me, I’ve cherished every individual in the Dallas community, every supporter of the Cowboys worldwide, and every player, coach, and staff member within this remarkable organization.

I never imagined the day would come when I would sign with a different team. My family and I hoped to complete our careers as Cowboys, but it wasn’t meant to be. A new chapter unfolds. I head to Seattle with enthusiasm, the same love for the game, and a drive to showcase my football prowess to a new team and fan base. I look forward to playing for the 12s and leading the Seahawks to success.

This isn’t the end of my journey as a Dallas Cowboy or a North Texas resident, but rather a new beginning for me and my family. We hope for your prayers and well-wishes as we embark on our next adventure, and we will see you soon. 90 out!” — Lawrence shared via social media.

This heartfelt message came on the heels of a remark the seasoned pass rusher made about the Cowboys following his departure in free agency. He evidently lacked confidence in Dallas’s future when he opted to join the Seahawks.

“Dallas is my home. I established my roots there, my family resides there, and it’s where I’ll always return, but I’m certain I won’t win a Super Bowl there,” Lawrence conveyed to Brian Nemhauser in an interview with Hawk Blogger. “So… yeah, we are here.”

Unsurprisingly, Cowboys star Micah Parsons had a response for Lawrence’s comment.

“This is what rejection and envy look like!,” Parsons posted on X. “That’s some clown (redacted)!”

Nevertheless, there are intriguing narratives developing for both the Cowboys and Lawrence as the next season approaches. He remains in the NFC, but the Cowboys are not scheduled to face Seattle during the regular season.
