A year before Linebacker De’Vondre Campbell quit on his current team, he was a Green Bay Packer. The former All-Pro was playing on a defense that struggled under coordinator Joe Barry. In a loss to the Rams, the 49ers’ defense initially looked strong with Dre Greenlaw starting. However, when Greenlaw was injured, Campbell refused to play, and the Rams won. Campbell has clearly worn out his welcome in San Francisco.

This contrasts with the Packers’ handling of his departure. Forty-Niners coach Kyle Shanahan publicly criticized Campbell, unlike LaFleur, who was in a playoff race.
