The National Football League’s “legal tampering” window began on Monday, and while the Miami Dolphins remained relatively quiet, other franchises across the league were actively negotiating deals with new players.
Among these active teams were the Houston Texans, who, in a series of transactions, signed former Dolphins wide receiver Braxton Berrios to a one-year contract valued at $2 million, as reported by multiple media outlets. Berrios departs from Miami after two seasons, during which he recorded 27 catches for 238 yards and one touchdown reception over 22 games.
At 29 years old, he also served as the Dolphins’ main kick and punt returner when fit, averaging 11.3 yards per punt return and 24.6 yards per kickoff return. It is anticipated that wide receiver Malik Washington will assume the return duties moving forward. Throughout his tenure in South Florida, Berrios earned a cumulative $4.2 million.
We will continue to provide updates on any roster changes made by Chris Grier and the Miami Dolphins during the 2025 free agency period.
