The Kansas City Chiefs are in the middle of camp this week, with their veterans looking to freshen up on things with their new rookie class. Star tight end Travis Kelce enters his 13th season showcasing a new look to help propel him to new heights in 2025.
According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Kelce’s new slimmer look was always part of this week’s mandatory minicamp plan.
“The Chiefs knew that Kelce was going to be gone this week; he’s expected back for minicamp, he’ll address the media, be on the practice field, all that fun stuff,” said Fowler, “He will debut a bit of a slimmer look. He’s told people close to him that he’s lost about 25 pounds this offseason. He played a little heavier in 2024, it was sort of a thing, he vowed to change it, and he has.”
The 35-year-old ten-time Pro Bowler posted 823 yards with three touchdowns on 97 receptions in 2024. He enters the 2025 season third all-time behind Tony Gonzalez and Jason Witten in tight end yards. He is only 2,977 yards behind Gonzalez for the most for a tight end in league history and 896 yards behind Witten for second place.
