Kristaps Porzingis Announces Personal News After Missing Last 6 Games Due to Illness“The Boston Celtics have been thriving heading into Monday’s matchup against the Utah Jazz, extending their win streak to four games, with their most recent victory coming against the red-hot Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday night at TD Garden.

However, the team has been operating without star forward Kristaps Porzingis, who entered Saturday’s game with a questionable designation and was ultimately ruled out due to a lingering, non-COVID-related illness. On Monday, Porzingis was again ruled out with the same illness, which has kept him sidelined since Feb. 28.

While concerns have been growing regarding Porzingis’ status, he took to social media on Monday evening during the Celtics’ game against the Jazz to provide a major update on his condition, revealing that he’s been battling a viral illness that is still being evaluated.

“I have been dealing with some viral illness that we haven’t been able to fully identify yet.” Porzingis posted. “I am recovering and getting better. But still working my way back to full strength to help this team. Thanks for support and Im hoping for a healthy return soon.”

Fans have shown clear support for Porzingis as he continues to recover and get closer to returning to the basketball court.

“Get well soon we don’t need you in March but we will in May,” A fan said.

“Your health is the most important thing, I hope you start feeling better soon, King,” Someone else added.

“We love you brother take your time,” Another fan posted.

One more fan commented, “Get well soon Bro! Your teammates got you. LETS GO!”

The Celtics are firmly in position to secure the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference, trailing the Cleveland Cavaliers by eight games for the top spot, with just under 20 games remaining until the NBA postseason.

However, Porzingis remains a crucial part of the Celtics’ path to repeating as NBA champions. Last season, his impact during the postseason was significant, and in the 32 games he’s played this season, he’s averaging 18.9 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.6 blocks.
