Jaylon Smith, a former star linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys, is on a mission to reignite his NFL career after a two-year hiatus. Drafted in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft, Smith made a name for himself with the Cowboys, showcasing his skills and leadership as a team captain.
Over his five-year tenure with the Cowboys, he consistently delivered high performance, recording over 120 tackles in three separate seasons. His impressive stats include 626 tackles, 11 sacks, six forced fumbles, six fumble recoveries, two interceptions, and a Pro Bowl appearance in 2019.
After parting ways with the Cowboys, Smith had short stints with several teams, including the Green Bay Packers, New York Giants, New Orleans Saints, Las Vegas Raiders, and Pittsburgh Steelers.
His last NFL appearance was in 2023 when he was signed off the New Orleans Saints practice squad by the Raiders, playing a single game for them.
Recently, Smith worked out with the Las Vegas Raiders during their rookie minicamp and successfully secured a deal with the team, as reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
This marks a pivotal moment in Smith’s career as he seeks to make a successful return to the field and once again prove his prowess as a formidable linebacker in the NFL.
