Canton, OH — One of the NFL’s most feared defenders has taken his rightful place among the game’s immortals. Legendary Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeMarcus Ware has officially been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, cementing his legacy as one of the greatest pass rushers in league history.
Known for his explosive first step, relentless motor, and unmatched work ethic, Ware spent the bulk of his career terrorizing quarterbacks while donning the iconic star of the Dallas Cowboys. From 2005 to 2013, Ware racked up 117 sacks with the Cowboys, becoming the franchise’s all-time sack leader.
“It’s the highest honor for a player, and DeMarcus Ware earned every bit of it,” said Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. “He was the heartbeat of our defense and a leader in every sense of the word.”
Ware ended his career with 138.5 total sacks, placing him among the top pass rushers in NFL history. After his time in Dallas, he went on to win Super Bowl 50 with the Denver Broncos, adding the only missing piece to his extraordinary résumé.
During his Hall of Fame speech, an emotional Ware thanked the Cowboys organization, his former teammates, and the fans:
“Dallas is where I became a man, where I learned what greatness really requires. I’ll always be a Cowboy at heart.”
With his induction, Ware joins other Cowboys legends in Canton, reminding the football world once again of the franchise’s deep tradition of excellence.
Once a Cowboy, always a Cowboy — and now, forever a Hall of Famer.
