Before the new salary cap figures, the Ravens were projected to have just under $6 million in salary cap space by Over the Cap. Currently, Baltimore has $12,766,460, and they’ll need to make some moves to retain Ronnie Stanley and continue upgrading the roster.
One big move is the expected release of safety Marcus Williams. According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the veteran defensive back is preparing to hit the open market.
Williams was a healthy scratch down the stretch and only played in 11 games, logging 33 tackles, one tackle for loss, and two passes defended. William’s 42.9 PFF grade was 160th out of 170 defensive backs in the NFL.
He’ll now look to land with a team and a scheme that keeps him in the box, and less in space.
