Josh Allen recently achieved something that Tom Brady, considered the greatest of all time, could not in his entire career. Pro Football Focus has graded Allen at 91.8 for the 2024 season, which is the fifth consecutive year he has been graded over 90, surpassing Brady’s four consecutive 90+ seasons in the PFF era.
Allen’s leadership has led to six 10+ win seasons and five consecutive AFC East titles, despite PFF metrics failing to fully measure his impact. “Josh Allen’s leadership, his consistent leadership was the biggest reason why we did what we did this season. So anybody that tries to say otherwise, I know better. I’ve seen it. Him now doing that every season for us is not an easy undertaking, but he is and was the reason,” said head coach Sean McDermott.
Former NFL head coach Bill Belichick identifies a striking resemblance between Josh Allen and seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady. “He’s just gotten better every year, and I think it’s a lot like Brady where they’re just not satisfied with their performance no matter how good it is. They keep getting better and better and doing little things better,” said Belichick during an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show.
“Allen’s done a great job this year of not turning the ball over. He continues to make critical plays on third down, fourth down, in the red area and in two-minute situations with the ball in his hands. He continues to make it look easy to be honest with you,” said Belichick.

In 2020, Allen led the Buffalo Bills to their first division title and playoff victory since 1995, setting franchise records for single-season passing yards and touchdowns. He also earned Pro Bowl and second-team All-Pro honors. Throughout his tenure, Allen has led the team to six playoff appearances, five consecutive division titles, seven postseason victories, and two conference championship game appearances.
