Chiefs urged to sign Pro Bowler after surprising Patriots move image

The Kansas City Chiefs clearly don’t need to make any moves.

Kansas City is 15-1 on the season and doesn’t need to play anyone in Week 18. The Chiefs have the No. 1 seed in the AFC locked up. Kansas City has won two straight Super Bowls and can do the same this year.

One thing that has been true about the Chiefs this year, though, is the fact that they haven’t gotten complacent by any means. The Chiefs have had so much success and yet they have found ways to keep adding to the franchise.

With the playoffs about to kick off, it wouldn’t be shocking to see the Chiefs take a look at the market to see if there are any players that could help at the last second. FanSided’s Richard Louis urged the team to go out and sign Yannick Ngakoue after being waived by the New England Patriots.

“According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Patriots waived pass rusher Yannick Ngakoue,” Louis said. “He was a member of the Baltimore Ravens this season before getting released. The Patriots then claimed Ngakoue in November…

“Kansas City has notched 39 team sacks this season but not one player has secured double-digit sacks in 2024. Potentially adding a playmaker like Ngakoue could be a wise decision. Granted he’s subject to waivers and since the Chiefs have the best record in the league, they’ll have to hope no one puts in a claim to land the veteran. The Chiefs traded for Josh Uche ahead of the trade deadline, but that move has aged badly over the second half of the season.”

Ngakoue hasn’t done much this year, but he’s just 29 years old and has had eight or more sacks in a season seven times in his nine-year NFL career. It would be worth it to bring him in.
