Frankie Muniz of Malcolm in the Middle fame surprised the racing world when he announced he would become a full-time driver in the NASCAR truck series.
While he’s impressed with a few runs, he’s found the racetrack a place of bad luck. Over the weekend he suffered his fourth “did not finish” of the season after running into the wall with 25 laps to go in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Texas. Muniz, always passionate on race day, was furious on the radio after the incident.
Muniz was in the midst of a strong run at the Reaume Brothers Racing truck, looking for a top-20 before blowing out his front right tire which sent him into the wall. As he hopped out of the car, the longtime actor couldn’t withhold his frustration.
“It happened again!” Muniz shouted. “I’m f***ing tired of it! F***!”
After venting his frustrations, Muniz admitted it’s difficult to stay motivated following another wreck.
“Just right front blew. I just, I cannot, I can’t catch a break,” Muniz said, via Frontstretch. “You know what I mean? Let me wreck dudes, let me wreck myself, let me feel like I did something wrong but I – it’s hard to keep coming. And like, it’s not my team, it’s none us, it’s out of our control, and things just keep happening, and it’s really – it’s tough to stay motivated.”
Honestly, I’ve got so much going on right now, and I’m like, man, give me a win. Like a win, like, feeling like we finished the race, I thought we were racing good and you know, doing alright. Just out of my control again. I’m over it, to be honest.”
Despite the rough end to an impressive race, Muniz made it clear he’ll be back.
“Just landed back in Vancouver! Excited to spend the day with my wife and son and then have a fun week filming more Malcolm reboot! Also already anxious to get back in my race car in Kansas next weekend!” he said in a message on social media.
The race at Kansas Speedway starts on May 10 at 7:30 p.m. ET.
