BREAKING NEWS: James Cook announces when he will retire from playing at the top level of the NFL, he said…

James Cook, one of the NFL’s standout players, surprised fans and the media by announcing that he would continue playing at the highest level until he felt he could no longer contribute to the team. In a recent press conference, Cook shared: “I will continue to give my all until I feel the right time to stop.”

James Cook began his NFL career with the Minnesota Vikings in 2014 and quickly asserted his talent with two impressive first seasons. However, a serious injury in 2016 kept him on the sidelines for a long time. Overcoming the difficulties, Cook came back strong and continued to play for teams such as the New Orleans Saints, Carolina Panthers, Denver Broncos, Miami Dolphins and most recently the Detroit Lions.

Second-Year Scouting Report: James Cook

Cook’s decision to continue playing comes in the context of many players of his generation choosing to retire. For example, Teddy Bridgewater, Cook’s former Vikings teammate, announced his retirement at the end of last season but then returned to play for the Detroit Lions. “We wanted to win a state championship and then coach the league, see what happens, and then come back in February during the offseason and coach high school football,” Bridgewater said.
