BREAKING NEWS: Jordan Love gave up his first class seat to a veteran in tribute – What he did next surprised even the guy on the flight…-Panettone Stallone

In a world that often feels like kindness is on the decline, NFL quarterback Jordan Love just reminded us all what true class looks like—and it’s not just about sitting in first class.

Passengers aboard American Airlines Flight 2370 witnessed a moment that’s now spreading like wildfire online. Just minutes before boarding was completed, Jordan Love, the rising star quarterback of the Green Bay Packers, quietly got up from his first-class seat and approached an elderly gentleman in military dress sitting in coach.

Veterans Day 2025 in the United States

According to witnesses, the 86-year-old man, identified later as Colonel Richard Harland (Ret.), was on his way to visit his late wife’s grave at Arlington National Cemetery—something he does every year on the anniversary of her passing.

What happened next left everyone speechless.

“This Seat Belongs to You, Sir.”

Without any cameras or announcements, Love simply leaned over, shook the veteran’s hand, and said:

“This seat belongs to you, sir. Thank you for your service.”

Col. Harland initially declined, insisting he was fine. But Love gently insisted, escorted the colonel to the front, and then took the colonel’s seat—26B, middle row, right next to the bathroom.

But that wasn’t all.

A Conversation That Changed a Flight

Is Jordan Love playing today vs. Bears? Injury updates for Packers QB

During the flight, Jordan didn’t put on headphones or bury himself in a tablet like most celebs might do. Instead, he struck up a heartfelt conversation with two young Marines seated nearby. They later said Love spent nearly the entire flight listening to their stories, asking about their families, and sharing some of his own struggles with pressure, purpose, and growing up in the public eye.

One of the Marines, Lance Corporal Anthony Vega, posted about it online:

“Jordan Love just gave up his seat, then sat back here with us for 2 hours. Didn’t brag, didn’t post. Just wanted to talk. He asked about our lives. Said the best honor of his week was talking to people who really serve this country.”

The post has now been shared over 2.8 million times on X (formerly Twitter), and the hashtag #LoveInTheAir is currently trending in the U.S.

Airlines and Veterans’ Groups Respond

American Airlines has since issued a statement praising Love’s spontaneous act:

“We commend Mr. Jordan Love for his humility and respect shown to one of our nation’s heroes. It’s moments like these that remind us travel is more than transportation—it’s connection.”

Veterans’ groups nationwide have also shared their gratitude. The Wounded Warrior Project is reportedly planning to honor Love at their next annual gala. In a statement, they said:

“Jordan Love showed the world what it means to lead by example. Not just on the field, but in real life.”

Love’s Response? Humble, As Always

Reporters caught up with Love shortly after the flight landed in Dallas, where he had arrived for a charity golf event.

His comment?

“I didn’t do anything special. That man gave more than I ever could. If giving up a seat shows even a little appreciation, then I’ll give mine up every time.”

He then quietly entered the terminal and declined to take further questions.

Reactions from Across the Country

Even fellow athletes and celebrities are chiming in:

  • Patrick Mahomes: “Respect. Class. Leadership. That’s what the league needs more of. Hats off to you, Jordan.”

  • JJ Watt: “I don’t care what team you root for, this is just awesome.”

  • Michelle Obama: “Moments like this matter. Thank you, Jordan Love.”

Fans are calling for the NFL to recognize Love with a “Salute to Service” award, and many are even petitioning for airlines to begin giving priority seating to veterans.
