Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin and his team have endured a four-game losing streak to close the regular season. That has been directly correlated with a steep drop-off in quarterback Russell Wilson’s play, where turnovers spiked and his efficiency dropped significantly.

On Monday, Tomlin was asked how he would evaluate Wilson’s play over those four weeks, and Tomlin admitted that Wilson has struggled, but that it was also a reflection of the entire team in that timespan.

“I think it’s reflective of all of our performances over the last month. It’s been spotty at best,” Tomlin said. “But again, during that time period, we’ve been 0-4, and so that’s not an earth-shattering statement.”

Wilson has turned the ball over four times in those games, with some crushing interceptions and a spike in fumbles. On top of that, he is taking more sacks than he had been during his high-level stretches of play. That does not mean that Tomlin will switch to Justin Fields, though. Tomlin is open to using Fields in packages, but after the game, he explained that he felt the team needed to work out its issues with Wilson on the field as the quarterback.
