BREAKING NEWS: Teddy Bridgewater hints he’s returning to NFL after coaching high school to state title… – VC

Teddy Bridgewater is ready to go from the classroom back to the gridiron after he left the NFL to coach high school football.

Bridgewater, 32, told the NFL Network immediately following his state championship victory while coaching his alma mater, Miami Northwestern (Fla.), that he intends to return to the NFL.

“We’ll see how [the] next week and a half, two weeks play out, might be signing with a team or something,” Bridgewater said. “And then returning back to coach high school football in February. So, we’ll see.”

Bridgewater stopped short of naming which team he’d be looking to join, although he seriously hinted that he was about to get on a plane and discuss a contract.

Perhaps not so coincidentally, the Lions posted on social media a congratulatory message for Bridgewater winning the state championship.

Bridgewater played for the Lions in 2023 for just one game against the Panthers; he did not throw a pass.

Other teams that could be kicking the tires on Bridgewater, including the Cleveland Browns, who just benched Jameis Winston and are turning to Dorian Thompson-Robinson, who has thrown for 540 yards, one touchdown and seven interceptions in his NFL career.

Other teams could be involved as well, including the Raiders, with starter Aidan O’Connell dealing with an injury, and the Giants, who may have to trot out Tim Boyle as their fourth starting quarterback Sunday.

The Titans have also benched Will Levis.

Bridgewater was a first-round pick in 2014 and injuries derailed the beginning of his career, but he rebounded to become a solid “bridge” quarterback for the Saints, Panthers, Broncos and Dolphins.
