BREAKING: Shannon Sharpe Bold Claim About 2000 Ravens Beating Super Bowl Champion Eagles.THANHDUNG

The Philadelphia Eagles are the new Super Bowl champions. But according to Baltimore Ravens’ iconic Shannon Sharpe, they wouldn’t score – much less win – in a game against the legendary 2000 team.

In response to CBS Sports recent list ranking every Super Bowl champion since 2000, Sharpe believes that the 2000 Ravens’ historically elite defense would have dominated the first 13 teams. CBS ranked Philly as the NFL’s best team in 25 years.

“I guarantee you, if they let us play by the rules that they played by, not one of those offenses score on that Ravens defense,” Sharpe recently said on his podcast. “They won’t get more than 14 points.”

It’s always fun to debate this angle of Fantasy Football, and it would be fascinating to see if Eagles’ record-setting running back Saquon Barkley could manage yardage against a No. 1-ranked defense led by Tony Siragusa, Ray Lewis and Rod Woodson.

Joked Sharpe, “He’d only have 37 yards against that defense.”

Baltimore’s defense allowed only 16 points in four playoff games and won Super Bowl XXXV, 34-7, over the New York Giants.

Despite that defense, the 2000 Ravens are ranked only No. 24 on CBS’s list of Super Bowl champs.

While he went 11-1 as Baltimore’s starter that season, Trent Dilfer had 12 touchdowns against 11 interceptions during the regular season. The Ravens won the title despite an offense that went five consecutive weeks in the regular season without a touchdown.
