The Tennessee Titans have signed former Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Matthew Wright. Wright joined the Titans on their practice squad, and he will be the Titans’ kicker on Sunday.
This is Wright’s third team this season. He is 11 of 12 and five for five on extra point attempts across those teams, including the Kansas City Chiefs, who he helped amid an injured stretch without Harrison Butker.
Wright has stuck around the NFL for years as a mercenary kicker but is trying to find his long-term spot. He hopes that Tennessee can become that for him.
The 26 year old has been a journeyman kicker and that was his second stint with the Chiefs, his first coming in 2021. An undrafted kicker out of UCF, the Steelers have brought Wright in multiple times for training camp. He helped kicker Chris Boswell have a lighter workload this summer as the Steelers have changed how Boswell works to make sure his body is in great shape.
