The Dallas Cowboys are familiar with making significant moves and might aim for another this offseason. Cody Benjamin from CBS Sports proposes that the Cowboys could be a possible destination for Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill if he seeks a trade.
“The Cowboys were once known for their ‘splash moves,’ but have been relatively inactive recently,” writes Benjamin. “Bringing in Hill would be the type of high-profile acquisition that puts them back in the spotlight, for better or worse. Although Hill is getting older, Dallas requires a seasoned partner for CeeDee Lamb, as demonstrated by their interest in Cooper Kupp.
Plus, they have more than $30 million in salary cap space for 2025.” Acquiring Hill would provide the Cowboys with another star player to complement Lamb, potentially forming the NFL’s top receiver duo.
However, a trade of this scale is improbable, especially as the Cowboys are still working to extend linebacker Micah Parsons’ contract. If they want to achieve that, they need to allocate funds for him, making it challenging to also accommodate Hill’s contract.
Hill has been part of trade speculations this offseason with the Dolphins, hinting at a possible move both after the regular season and on social media recently, yet if a trade occurs, it’s unlikely the Cowboys will be involved. If the Cowboys seek another receiver, they are likely to explore the NFL Draft later this month for options.
