On Friday, the Kansas City Chiefs named the recipients of the Mack Lee Hill Rookie of the Year and Derrick Thomas MVP Award.
The 2024 Mack Lee Hill Rookie of the Year, named after the Chiefs’ legendary fullback, was given to wide receiver Xavier Worthy, who tallied 59 passes this season for 638 yards and nine touchdowns.
Worthy trailed only Jacksonville Jaguars’ wide receiver Brian Thomas for total touchdowns by a rookie this season.
Take a look at the Chiefs’ official announcement of their decision to award Worthy the Mack Lee Hill Rookie of the Year award, which was posted to the team’s Twitter account:
Offensive lineman Joe Thuney was named this year’s Derrick Thomas MVP Award winner, which is given to the team’s most valuable player.
Thuney ranked second among all offensive guards in pass-blocking grades this season and earned AP First-Team All-Pro honors for his tremendous gameplay.
The two awards are voted on by the players and are a true representation of the best the AFC champions have to offer.
Both Worthy and Thuney were significant contributors to the team’s success this season and are expected to continue their positive impact as the Chiefs look to return to the Super Bowl next season.
