Carlos Alcaraz has often been praised for his kindness on and off the court. But, that is also a result of his roots. The Murcia native player has launched himself to stardom after winning several titles on the court. However, he has not forgotten his journey to the top of the sport. In a recent interview, he revealed what he felt like growing up in a middle-class family.

Alcaraz was born in Murcia’s El Palmar. The Spaniard’s father was a professional tennis player who later became the tennis director at the Real Sociedad Club de Campo de Murcia. Also, the 21-year-old’s mother was a sales assistant at IKEA.

The former World No.1’s dedication and talent have seen him become one of the best players of his generation. He has already won four Grand Slam titles and has been ranked in the Top 3 for three consecutive years. He is also one of the highest-paid players in the World earning a total of $9,850,338 this season.

Recently, Alcaraz launched his ‘Feet on the Ground‘ exhibition in collaboration with his foundation, to provide equal opportunities to underprivileged children. During the event, he shed light on growing up in a middle-class family.

Alcaraz has been enjoying his preseason competing in exhibition matches. He played against Ben Shelton at Madison Square Garden and recently also featured at the Charlotte Invitational exhibition tournament.

Carlos Alcaraz has had an extraordinary career since his breakthrough in 2022. The Spaniard became the year-end World No.1 that year and soon established himself as one of the promising players for the future. This year he won four titles, including the French Open and Wimbledon Championship.

While talking to kids during the aforementioned exhibition, he revealed that he is lucky and grateful to have an amazing career.

Also, Alcaraz is looking forward to opening his 2025 campaign strongly at the Australian Open. The 21-year-old will be eyeing the title, because if he does win it he will become the youngest player to complete a Career Slam.
