Celtics React to Major Jaylen Brown News -anhtruc.

The No. 2 seed Boston Celtics took care of business against the No. 7 seed Orlando Magic on Sunday, recording a 103-86 final score in Game 1 of their first-round playoff series.

Jaylen Brown did his part for the reigning league champions, notching 16 points on 6-14 shooting from the field. The four-time NBA All-Star also chipped in with five rebounds, two assists and two steals through 30 minutes of action in the lopsided victory.

Brown joined the Celtics franchise as the team’s No. 3 overall pick in the 2016 NBA draft. Since then, he’s become a pillar of the Boston community.

On Tuesday, Brown was named on Boston Magazine’s annual “150 Most Influential Bostonians” list — claiming the No. 20 spot. The publication cited Brown’s off-court charitable contributions and on-court play for the Celtics.

“Brown’s 7uice Foundation, which aims to bridge the opportunity gap in underserved communities, has been on an impressive run, recently paying for high schoolers to participate in an MIT robotics competition. But the Celtics star has bigger plans: namely, to narrow Boston’s racial wealth gap and create a “Black Wall Street.” Hence the launch of Boston Xchange, aimed at helping local entrepreneurs with funds, space, and advice. It’s safe to say Brown is also pretty important on the parquet, too,” Boston Magazine wrote.

Celtics owner Wyc Grousbeck claimed the No. 1 spot on the annual list.

“The best of Boston Congrats to Wyc Grousbeck and Jaylen Brown for topping the list of @BostonMagazine’s 150 Most Influential Bostonians,” the team wrote on social media.

Brown and the Celtics will look to improve their series lead to 2-0 in Wednesday’s Game 2 matchup against the Magic. That postseason contest at Boston’s TD Garden will tipoff at 7 p.m. ET on TNT.
