Chiefs’ latest Week 16 injury report tells us everything we need to know about QB Patrick Mahomes’ status for the Texans game…ts.dhung.

The Kansas City Chiefs completed their second practice session ahead of Week 16’s game against the Houston Texans.

For the second consecutive day, Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes was listed as a full participant in practice. It sends the signal that Mahomes will, in fact, play against the Texans in Week 16 despite suffering a “mild” high ankle sprain in Week 15’s game against the Cleveland Browns.

Obviously, there’s one more practice before the game, so we’ll have to see how his ankle responds to that final practice. However, short of a setback, everyone should prepare to see Mahomes start on Saturday. Mahomes certainly wouldn’t be getting full practice repetitions if the team were planning to start backup QB Carson Wentz in Week 16.

Here’s a look at the second injury reports of the week for both the Chiefs and Texans. . .

Second Chiefs Injury Report

Player Injury Tuesday Wednesday
DB Chamarri Conner Concussion DNP DNP
LT D.J. Humphries Hamstring DNP DNP

KEY: DNP = Did not participate | LP = Limited participation | FP = Full participation | NIR = Not injury related

Observations:

  • Do not expect either Chamarri Conner or D.J. Humphries to play in Week 16 against the Texans.
  • WR Hollywood Brown had his second consecutive full practice. Short of a setback, look for him to make his return on Saturday.
