Chiefs TE Travis Kelce sends firm message regarding his future in the NFL – HTX

Travis Kelce has decided to return for his 13th season in the NFL, but now that brings up another important question.

Will this season be his final one?

During the latest episode of the New Heights podcast, Kelce answered that exact question in the best way he could.

“Kansas City, we’re back at it for at least one more year. I can’t say whether or not this will be the last year because I still love a lot of what I do for the city of Kansas City and the Chiefs organization,” Kelce said. “I know I got one on my contract and I’m going to give you everything I got.”

It’s clear the the tight end still loves the game despite the wear and tear it takes on his body. He even said exactly that when describing why he decided to return.

“I think the biggest thing is that I f***ing love playing the game of football, man,” Kelce explained. “I love playing. I still feel like I can play at a high level, and possibly at a higher level than last year. I don’t think it was my best outing. I think I let my guys down in a lot more moment then I helped them.”

“And I love so many people in Kansas City, both in that facility and the community,” he added. “And it’s home for me now. I don’t want to leave that life yet. I put in a lot of hard work and a lot of focus into being the best that I can for KC and last year, it just didn’t end well for us. And I feel like there’s a responsibility in me to play out the contract I initially signed, to give Kansas City and the Chiefs organization everything that I got, and that’s what I’m going to do.”
