Conor Riley Joins Cowboys as O-Line Coach
Riley’s New Role in Dallas
The Dallas Cowboys have officially hired Conor Riley as their new offensive line coach. This move aims to bolster their coaching staff under offensive coordinator Kton Adams and head coach Brian Schottenheimer. The Cowboys confirmed the appointment after reports surfaced on Friday morning.
Riley’s Background
Conor Riley has been with Kansas State since 2019, serving as the offensive line coach and adding offensive coordinator duties in 20243. He is widely respected as one of the top offensive line coaches in college football. Before K-State, Riley spent six years at North Dakota State, where he helped the team win five national championships.
Reuniting with Former Players
In Dallas, Riley will reunite with two former All-American Wildcats: Cooper Beebe, the Cowboys’ starting center and a 2024 third-round pick, and Deuce Vaughn, a former sixth-round running back. Riley coached Beebe to become a two-time Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year.
Prioritizing the Running Game
The Cowboys have brought in Riley and offensive coordinator Kton Adams with the intention to prioritize enhancements to their running game in the upcoming season. Riley’s experience and reputation are expected to contribute significantly to this effort.
K-State’s Next Move
With Riley’s departure, K-State may consider Matt Wells, who has nine years of head coaching experience, to transition into the primary offensive coordinator role. K-State finished the 2024 season as Rate Bowl champions and is favored to win the Big 12 Conference in 2025.
