Cowboys players left speechless by Dak Prescott’s apparent weight loss-bobo

Isn’t it nice to have an offseason where Dak Prescott’s contract isn’t a point of concern? While Micah Parsons’ extension has swapped places with Prescott, there is something calming about not having any quarterback controversy.

The Dallas Cowboys made Prescott the highest-paid quarterback in the league last September after he finished second in MVP voting the previous season.

Trying to overcome roster and play-calling deficiencies, Prescott was unable to rediscover his 2023 form before his season-ending hamstring injury. The whole operation seemed doomed from the start.

Not only did Mike McCarthy’s play-calling lack innovation, but the chemistry between Prescott and CeeDee Lamb started off slow after Lamb missed all of training camp waiting for his extension, and the team shoehorned Ezekiel Elliott into the offense for the first two months.

Coming off arguably his worst season to date, Prescott has been putting in the work while rehabbing his hamstring. One of Dak’s favorite targets, tight end Jake Ferguson, shared to Instagram this week that QB1 has shed serious weight this offseason.

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott apparently lost a ton of weight this offseason

At a recent throwing session, Ferguson called Prescott the “Slim Reaper” and said the QB is “down 50 pounds.” That is hard to believe based on the below video (h/t to Brandon Loree of Blogging The Boys for finding the clip), but Prescott definitely looks leaner compared to when we last saw him.

Prescott reposted Ferguson’s video with a nickname of his own. “Slimothy, that’s me,” the 31-year-old wrote with a laughing emoji.

As you might expect, the video made the rounds and found its way to Kay Adams of the “Up & Adams” show. Adams interviewed Dallas linebacker DeMarvion Overshown this week after he became the first player in franchise history to be presented with the No. 0.

Reluctant to blow up Prescott’s spot, Overshown didn’t disclose the specifics of Prescott’s weight loss. However, he did say the QB is looking “GQ good,” seemingly to imply that Dak could be on the cover of the famed magazine.

While the number remains a mystery, it is clear Ferguson and Overshown are impressed by Prescott’s current physique. It stands to reason that other Cowboys players share that sentiment.

The odd thing is Prescott has been in great shape his entire career. Maybe he heard the criticisms about not running enough and wanted to slim down to become more mobile. Maybe he saw his hamstring rehab as an opportunity to shed a few before his age-32 season.

The motivation will remain a mystery, but it seems Prescott is going to be in the best shape of his career in 2025.
