The Buffalo Bills have made a significant move to bolster their defense by signing five-time Pro Bowl defensive end Joey Bosa to a one-year, $12.6 million contract, with incentives that could increase the deal’s value to $15.6 million.

This acquisition aims to enhance the Bills’ pass rush, addressing a critical need identified in their previous season’s performance.

Joey Bosa Agrees on One-Year Deal With Buffalo Bills

Bosa, who spent nine seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers, was released on March 5, 2025, in a move that saved the team $25.36 million in salary cap space.

Throughout his tenure with the Chargers, Bosa accumulated 72 sacks, ranking second in the franchise’s history. Despite facing injuries in recent years, limiting his availability, Bosa managed to record five sacks and 22 tackles in the previous season, earning a Pro Bowl selection.

The Bills’ decision to sign Bosa comes after releasing former Pro Bowl linebacker Von Miller, creating a void in their pass-rushing capabilities.

Bosa’s addition is expected to provide the necessary pressure on opposing quarterbacks, a factor that was lacking as the team ranked 19th in the NFL for sacks last season.

In response to joining the Bills, Bosa shared a concise seven-word message: “Ready to bring the heat to Buffalo.” This statement reflects his enthusiasm and commitment to contributing to the team’s defensive strength.

The Bills’ fans and organization are optimistic that Bosa’s experience and skills will significantly impact the upcoming season, reinforcing the team’s pursuit of a Super Bowl title.
