The Los Angeles Dodgers are at home on Saturday night as they take on the Pittsburgh Pirates looking to snap their losing streak.

Los Angeles enters Saturday’s matchup having lost their last three games, including being shut out by the Pirates on Friday night after another incredible start by Paul Skenes.

Despite their recent struggles, the Dodgers still sit third in the National League West with a 16-10 record, just one game behind the San Diego Padres for the division lead.

Ahead of Saturday’s game, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts made a massive announcement regarding their superstar Shohei Ohtani.

Roberts announced that Ohtani threw a bullpen session on Saturday, his first since coming back from paternity leave.

In the bullpen session, Roberts said Ohtani threw 31 pitches using his two-seam fastball, four-seam fastball and splitter and gave an update afterwards.

“Came out of it really well,” Roberts said on Ohtani’s bullpen session.

This is great news for the Dodgers and Ohtani as he continues to rehab from Tommy John surgery that has kept him from pitching since the 2023 season, his last season with the Los Angeles Angels.

Despite this, Ohtani is still a ways away from returning to the mound for the Dodgers as he is not expected to return to pitching until the summer, but this was another step in the right direction for the two-way superstar.

While Ohtani has struggled, the Dodgers star will likely break out of it soon and it could come as soon as Saturday night at home as Los Angeles looks to end their three-game losing streak against the Pirates.
