Dodgers React to Making MLB History After Shohei Ohtani’s Walk-Off Home Run Against Braves – ANHTRUC,

The Los Angeles Dodgers entered Wednesday night’s game against the Atlanta Braves on a seven-game win streak to start the season, despite trailing at some point in more than half of those games.

Fresh off a championship, Los Angeles appears to be riding the same momentum, though it didn’t come easily Wednesday night. The Atlanta Braves, still winless on the season, led for most of the game, holding a 5-3 advantage going into the eighth inning.

With two outs in the eighth, Max Muncy stepped up and hit a game-tying double, driving in two runs to level the score at 5-5. After a quick top of the ninth, the stage was set for something special as superstar Shohei Ohtani came to the plate with the game on the line.

Facing Braves closer Raisel Iglesias, Ohtani got a hanging pitch over the middle of the plate and didn’t miss it. He crushed the ball deep to center field for a walk-off home run, securing a thrilling 6-5 win for the Dodgers and extending their historic start to 8-0. It was a dramatic finish that solidified the Dodgers’ place in MLB history.

With the win, the Dodgers made major history as the first defending World Series champions to start the following season 8-0.

“That feeling when you make history as the only reigning champions to start off a season 8-0,” the Dodgers posted.

While the Dodgers were undoubtedly a powerhouse last season with their roster, they’ve only gotten stronger, retaining all the key pieces that helped them capture the World Series over the New York Yankees.

Now, with an 8-0 start to the season, they’ll enjoy an off day Thursday before heading on the road for a major early-season clash in Philadelphia against the NL-contending Phillies.
