The timing is just right for the Miami Dolphins to trade away wide receiver Tyreek Hill before it’s too late, the team’s former linebacker Channing Crowder believes.
Crowder, who has become a popular podcaster in his post-NFL career, argued on his 560 WQAM show that the Dolphins need to get something in return for Hill before his value disappears entirely.
“Get rid of him before the downfall,” Crowder said earlier this week. “He’s a speed guy. You don’t get faster as you get older. You don’t get quicker as you get older. You get slower. He still has a market. He’s still a 1,000-yard receiver. … Find something to get out of the Tyreek contract.”
Hill, who turned 31 on Saturday, missed the Pro Bowl for the first time in his career in 2024 when he finished the season with 81 receptions for 959 yards and six touchdowns. In February, he underwent wrist surgery to repair an issue that plagued him for the entire season.
After the Dolphins’ Week 18 loss to the New York Jets, Hill made a pseudo trade request that he later walked back. While Miami head coach Mike McDaniel said the receiver’s actions “won’t be tolerated,” he also said they were able “to clear the air” with Hill.
Still, a trade would make sense for a Dolphins team that struggled with discipline and accountability in 2024.
