Eagles’ Jalen Hurts Announces Concern Level Ahead of Playoff vs. Rams-HN

QB isn’t worried about the numbers he puts on the field as long as he wins at the end of the day.

At first glance at the stat sheet, Jalen Hurts’ performance in Sunday’s wild-card win for the Philadelphia Eagles left much to be desired.

Philadelphia’s franchise quarterback completed just 13 of 21 passes for 130 yards and two touchdowns. During the game, the lack of significant threat through the air caused many fans and analysts to question Philly’s status as a Super Bowl contender.

Hurts isn’t too worried about the numbers, though.

He has a message for critics of Philadelphia’s passing game.

“I think you guys need to understand I don’t play the game for anything other than to win,” Hurts said. “My role and approach in each game will be different..Ultimately it’s about winning the game. It’s playoff football.”

Several times this season, the Eagles have struggled in the passing game one week, only to respond with monster numbers the following week.

Against a Rams team that has struggled to both stop the run and the pass, along with potentially snowy conditions, Sunday’s divisional-round matchup may not be the game for Hurts’ arm to take center stage either.

And that’s OK.

The Eagles have always been a team built to win in several different ways. They have gotten to 15 victories this season alone with that understanding.

If Hurts needs to win throwing the ball, he will. If he needs to run more, he’ll do that as well.

It’s about time people understand that winning is all that matters in the end.
