Eagles’ Nick Sirianni Gives Huge Jalen Hurts Injury Update on Tuesday-HN

The Philadelphia Eagles are hard at work preparing to host the Washington Commanders this Sunday in the NFC Championship, though all eyes are on star QB Jalen Hurts. He suffered a knee injury during the Divisional Round win and while Hurts was able to finish the game, he was clearly hampered by it.

Hurts is obviously an important player to have on the field. He’s faced criticism for mediocre box score stats, though he’s got the Eagles in the driver’s seat to advance to the Super Bowl for the second time in his young career. This team might be better than the one that lost to the Kansas City Chiefs a couple of years ago, but only if Hurts can suit up.

Eagles' Nick Sirianni Gives Huge Jalen Hurts Injury Update on Tuesday

Luckily, head coach Nick Sirianni expects Hurts to play on Sunday.

Appearing on 94 WIP radio, Sirianni said that the Eagles are “preparing with (Hurts) being the quarterback.” Whether or not Hurts will be 100% is another matter and could have an impact on the game.

Hurts’ mobility is a big part of his value proposition. He rushed seven times for 70 yards in the win over the Los Angeles Rams, kicking off the scoring with a 44-yard run for a TD. He threw for only 128 yards and while that can be attributed to the snow, his legs have always been a key part of what makes Hurts great.

Commanders rookie QB Jayden Daniels is a phenom who just helped Washington drop 45 points on the vaunted Detroit Lions. The Eagles’ defense is a much stiffer test, though Philadelphia needs to come into this game with a sense of urgency to score points. A healthy Hurts would go a long way, so hopefully he’ll get the help he needs from the training staff between now and Sunday.

Betting markets appear not to be too concerned. FanDuel Sportsbook has the Eagles as 6.5-point favorites with +175 odds to win the Super Bowl, the lowest of any remaining team. As long as Hurts is good to go, this might be Philly’s Lombardi Trophy to lose.
