LeSean McCoy believes Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen will win the NFL MVP over his Baltimore Ravens counterpart Lamar Jackson. Shady based his argument on the number of players who made Pro Bowls from each team.

On Thursday, the NFL released the much-awaited Pro Bowl list, which only included Dion Dawkins besides Allen from the Bills. McCoy claimed this is the reason for the 28-year-old’s greatness on the pitch.

During Thursday’s segment of FS1’s The Facility, McCoy highlighted the Pro Bowl list that contained nine Ravens players including Lamar Jackson (most for a Ravens team since 2019). From his point of view, the list tips the balance in Allen’s favor.

Even though the Bills won 13 games this season, two more than the Ravens, the Baltimore franchise contains higher-valued players. For example, Zay Flowers (73 receptions, 1047 yards, and 4 touchdowns) became the first-ever Ravens receiver named in the Pro Bowl while none of the Bills receivers even crossed 1000 receiving yards.

Ryan Clark earlier mentioned that fans are fatigued seeing Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Jackson being the only two players in the MVP mix in the last five seasons. So, the narrative might propel voters to choose Allen.

McCoy on the other hand, went for a different route. It’s the strength of the two teams that makes the most difference.

It’s easy to point out that the Bills kept their scoring prowess even after the Josh Allen-Stefon Diggs partnership ended in the offseason as Diggs joined the Texans. Allen led the Bills to score 30+ points in 12 different games (second most) without a solid WR1 on the team. He has 42 touchdown contributions (receiving and rushing) and just 6 interceptions all season.

In comparison to Allen, Jackson utilized his best weapon- All-Pro running back Derrick Henry, who churned out 1783 yards leading to a Pro Bowl induction. Both have used their resources smartly and whoever wins the MVP can be considered well-earned.
