Former Los Angeles Chargers edge rusher Joey Bosa has agreed to a one-year contract with the Buffalo Bills worth a reported $12 million, which could escalate to $15.6 with incentives.THANHDUNG

The Buffalo Bills are the winners of the Joey Bosa Sweepstakes.

With three teams vying for his services, Bosa opted to sign with the Bills as he believes Buffalo gives him the best opportunity to play in a Super Bowl. The one-year $12 million deal could be worth as much as $15.6 million with incentives.

The story was first reported by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network on social media.

The Bills lured Bosa to Orchard Park Tuesday evening in somewhat of a surprise. Bosa was also considering his hometown Miami Dolphins, where his father John was a first-round draft choice in the 1980’s and the San Francisco 49ers, where his brother Nick plays.

The Bosa Brothers are from Fort Lauderdale and went to St. Thomas High School before both going to Ohio State University.

The Dolphins were believed to be “all-in” on Bosa as they need to revamp their pass rush due to the fact edge rusher Jaelan Phillips is coming off of his second consecutive season-ending injury. Miami’s other starting pass rusher, Bradley Chubb missed the 2024 season due to an injury sustained in the season prior.

However, according to Michael Silver of The Athletic, the Dolphins and the 49ers were not going to offer more than $10 million. It appears as though the Bills won a bidding war.

Bosa, who was named the 2016 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year, has been selected to the Pro Bowl five times in his nine-year career. He was the third pick of the Chargers and was the last remaining Chargers player from when they played in San Diego.

Bosa has 72 career sacks, 343 tackles and three forced fumbles. He played in 14 games last season, missing games due to injuries.
