Novak Djokovic failed to win a tour-level title in 2024 but now his focus has shifted toward the next season as he started working with coach Andy Murray for the Australian Open. Andrea Petkovic, a former World No.9 from Germany, is convinced that Djokovic won’t pay much heed to any tournament other than the Australian Open and Wimbledon.

Djokovic won 10 titles in Melbourne, while at the Wimbledon, he won the title seven times. At SW19 in 2024, the Serb reached the first final of the season but was denied his historic 25th major when Carlos Alcaraz defeated him for the second time on the trot. In Melbourne this year, Djokovic lost to current World No.1 Jannik Sinner in the semifinal in four sets.

Djokovic himself has often stated that he would be focusing only on Grand Slam tournaments and would be missing several ATP 500 and ATP 1000 tournaments just like the 2024 season.

Novak Djokovic holds the record for most Australian Open which, according to Serena Williams‘ former coach Rennae Stubbs, is more impressive than Rafael Nadal‘s 14 French Open titles. Stubbs thinks that as almost everyone plays well on hard court, Djokovic’s 10-win proves how dominating he has been in the tournament.

Stubbs also wants Djokovic to ‘drop the mic’ after winning his 25th major in Australia and go on a holiday with his family and see the country. Despite his preparation, Djokovic would be facing tough challenges from two youngsters, Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, when he starts his campaign for the 2025 season.
