Gilbert Arenas says the Golden State Warriors were home to two of the best shooters of all time.
The Golden State Warriors enjoyed a phenomenal spell from 2015 to 2022. In that stretch, the organization reached six NBA Finals, while lifting the Larry O’Brien trophy four times.
During this time period, the Dubs’ high-volume three-point shooting strategy changed the way that the game of basketball is played in the modern era.
At the center of it was Stephen Curry, who is regarded as the best shooter of all time. But apart from Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green also played crucial roles in establishing the dynasty.

Last summer, Thompson turned a new chapter in his career as he left the Warriors after spending 13 years with the organization. But he remains an excellent shooter for the Dallas Mavericks.
With that said, former NBA star Gilbert Arenas recently spoke about the best shooter of all time debate on The Dan Patrick Show.
“Steph Curry. Not even close,” Arenas on who the GOAT shooter is.
However, when it comes to the second place, Arenas said: “I really believe it’s Klay Thompson. The shots he’s had to take, the volume.
“It’s just the ways he did it. If I’m going to go clutch, I’m going with Reggie Miller. Reggie Miller’s clutch shooting is above those guys.
“Ray Allen is an in between of a guy, a perfect player, very athletic, he can shoot, he can play make. Steph combined everyone into one.”
Arenas brilliantly broke down the debate as he acknowledged all top-notch shooters. It was good to see Thompson getting the respect he deserves for being an amazing shooter.
Klay Thompson’s legacy as a shooter
When Thompson joined the Mavericks, he was essentially the third option behind the dynamic duo of Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving.
As a result, many expected Klay to fall off. However, the 4x NBA champion continues to prove his talent as a sensational shooter.
Klay added another jewel to his crown recently when he hit the 200th three-pointer of the 2024-25 NBA season. He became only the second player in NBA history to achieve this milestone in 10 or more seasons.
The No. 1 spot obviously belongs to Curry, but it shows even at 35 years old, Thompson continues to make his case as a legendary shooter.
