Jalen Hurts’ latest comment ahead of Eagles Super Bowl should have Kansas City Chiefs feeling on edge-HN

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts’ latest comment should have the Kansas City Chiefs feeling on edge.

During Friday’s press conference, Hurts was asked by a reporter, “Earlier this week in a meeting, Nick Sirianni asked the team to close their eyes and envision their best game of the season. What came to your mind?”

Hurts couldn’t think of one game where he felt he played his best.

“Nothing,” Hurts said.

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts speaks to media ahead of Super Bowl LIX.

If anyone is too hard on himself, it’s Jalen Hurts. But that’s exactly why he is one of the most reliable quarterbacks in the NFL, because he is never satisfied.

There were several games this year where Hurts put on a show with one of his better performances coming during the NFC Championship win over the Washington Commanders to advance to the Super Bowl. Hurts completed 20 of 28 pass attempts for 246 yards and one touchdown while he ran for another 16 yards and three scores.

In the Eagles’ last three postseason games, Hurts completed 48 of 69 pass attempts for 505 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for 122 yards and four touchdowns.

Looking ahead to Hurts’ postseason finale, Super Bowl LIX will mark his second Super Bowl appearance and his second Super Bowl versus Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs.

And it’s more clear than ever that Hurts won’t be totally satisfied until that Super Bowl Lombardi trophy is in his hands, whether or not he plays his best game.

“It’s about efficiency. It’s about winning at this point,” Hurts said. “It’s always been about winning. But, you know, when you’re able to win in a number of different ways, it’s just about mastering whatever the plan is in that particular game and in that particular moment, and just making sure everyone is on the same page when we go out there and execute.”
