Jordan Love will live out Aaron Rodgers’ dream if Packers draft rumors are true -bb

For as long as Aaron Rodgers was a member of the Green Bay Packers, the organization did a whole lot for him.

But, there was one thing they always refused to do for their former quarterback: select a wide receiver in the first round of the draft.

Green Bay Packers, Jordan Love

It almost became this running joke after a while. Rodgers was that good. He didn’t necessarily need a first-round wide receiver. But, could he have used one? Absolutely.

Now, with Jordan Love under center in Green Bay, there is a narrative that’s grown louder especially since running back Josh Jacobs spoke up. It’s not complicated: the Packers need a true number one wide receiver.

So, could they be looking at finding one in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft? If recent reports out of Ohio State’s Pro Day are true, that’s exactly what the Packers could be doing.

The Packers have been looking hard at first-round wide receiver prospects

NFL Draft analyst Tony Pauline recently wrote on what he heard at the Buckeyes Pro Day, and Packer fans will be delighted to learn the details.

Aaron Rodgers teeters on the brink of retirement while Steelers await his monumental decision that could reshape NFL's quarterback landscape

“The Green Bay Packers and Los Angeles Chargers were two teams spoken about in Columbus who will look at receivers hard in the first round,” wrote Pauline.

Well, well, well … this would be quite interesting. There is something to be said about the fact that Rodgers is currently contemplating his future and very well could end up calling it a career. Meanwhile, the Packers are thinking of doing something they never did for Rodgers.

It’s funny. No, really, it is. As much as fans might have wanted the Packers to give Rodgers a first-round wide receiver and as much as some fans might still love their former quarterback, this is still quite funny.

Now, on a serious note, there are a couple of wideouts the Packers could be eyeing in the first round. If they wanted the consensus no. 1 prospect in Arizona’s Tetairoa McMillan, they’d likely have to trade up from pick no. 23.

But, there are a couple others who might be there for the taking right where they’re at. Missouri’s Luther Burden has often been a first-round grade. Additionally, Ohio State’s Emeka Egbuka is a first-round talent.

At no. 23, the Packers could be in the perfect position to get a player like Egbuka, and Ohio State wide receivers do not often disappoint.

Will the Packers give Jacobs and Love the luxury of drafting one of these wideouts? We are less than a month away from finding out.
