Kristaps Porzingis got an elbow to the nose from Cody Martin on a drive, leading to the big man grabbing at his face and on the ground.
Fortunately, even though Porzingis was bleeding, he was in good spirits as he left the court. He appealed to the TD Garden crowd as he got cheers walking back to the Celtics locker room. The Celtics said Porzingis was questionable to return to Friday’s game with a cut to nose requiring stitches.
Porzingis left the game with 15 points and four rebounds in his 23 minutes, shooting 5-for-12 from the field. The Celtics also challenged the play afterwards, getting an offensive foul called on Martin as he went up for the dunk.
At this point, it doesn’t look like anything too serious going forward for Porzingis. He walked off the court under his own power. He was bleeding from the bridge of his nose, but the Celtics will hope that wasn’t too consequential of a blow.
