The Atlanta Braves had their three-game winning streak halted Wednesday night in a loss to the Cincinnati Reds. Still, outfielder Alex Verdugo remains confident in the team’s potential, believing the Braves can hold their own against any opponent in Major League Baseball.

Verdugo, who stepped into the outfield following Jarred Kelenic’s absence, has faith in manager Brian Snitker’s squad as they inch closer to a .500 record.

A nine-year MLB veteran, Verdugo has played for several teams in recent seasons, but he’s consistently made an impact wherever he’s gone. After helping the New York Yankees reach the World Series in 2024, Verdugo now believes his new team in Atlanta has what it takes.

“I feel like we can beat anybody out there, right?” Verdugo told The Athletic’s David O’Brien.

Despite a rough start to the season, the Braves are clawing their way back into the National League East conversation. The offense has come alive in recent games, showing signs of the explosive power fans have come to expect—even without superstar Ronald Acuña Jr., who remains sidelined on the injured list.
