Mike Tomlin promises big changes after Steelers’ third straight loss.THANHDUNG

After the Pittsburgh Steelers’ third straight loss, with this being a shellacking at home at the hands of the Kansas City Chiefs, head coach Mike Tomlin says that changes are coming, mainly because they are necessary with how his team is now playing.

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Kansas City Chiefs

“We’re not going to continue to do the same things and hope for a different result. That doesn’t seem sharp to me. So we’re going to take a hard look at this. We’ve got a couple extra days before we get back into it. We’re going to take a look at it and make whatever necessary changes we need to make in the totality of this thing, because again, that doesn’t feel good. It doesn’t look good. That’s just the truth and reality of it,” Tomlin said.

Those changes could come to the personnel or schematics, but both likely need tweaks for the Steelers to walk out with a playoff victory this season. That has been their goal all year, and even if they do not win the AFC North, which appears increasingly unlikely, the team could still check off a box and crack the playoff drought.

The defense continues to bust coverages. Meanwhile, the offense has sputtered completely. All of these things have come together to make changes necessary on the mini-bye before the Steelers face the Cincinnati Bengals.
