Mike Tomlin Told to Ditch Russell Wilson for SB Winner as National Reporter Predicts Huge Steelers-Rams Trade.THANHDUNG

Russell Wilson signed a one-year deal with the Steelers, but he’s set to hit free agency this year. The former Seahawks QB has been linked to teams like the Raiders, mainly because of a possible reunion with Pete Carroll. After all, they won Super Bowl XLVIII together. But Wilson has been clear that his focus is on the Steelers. While we are at it, Albert Breer thinks Pittsburgh would be better off going after Matthew Stafford. Instead of rolling the dice on free agents like Wilson, Justin Fields, or Sam Darnold.

“If I’m one of those teams that if I feel like I’m a quarterback away and I look at the market. And I see Sam Darnold, Russell Wilson, and Justin Fields. I feel Stafford’s the guy who could put you over the top I mean we saw it we saw it four years ago,” said Breer. But what could be the possible reason behind Breer’s insistence over Stafford?

The Rams sent shockwaves through the NFL world with WR Cooper Kupp‘s trade. The team is looking to beef up the O-Line after failing to go past the divisional round this season. This move has sparked rumors that Matthew Stafford could be on the move, too. The QB isn’t ready to hang up his cleats just yet. But the Rams might be wondering if he’s their long-term answer.

Albert Breer thinks Stafford might also be eyeing a ‘market correction.’ And here’s another major reason he might consider a trade: his wife, Kelly, has been pretty vocal about wanting to leave LA. On her podcast, The Morning After, she talked about how she’s not sure she wants to raise their kids in the city. Between the wild animals, floods, and fires, she’s been pretty skeptical about staying in LA.

And that’s not all. According to Breer, Stafford is the better option for the Steelers among the other available QBs if they want to compete against the top AFC quarterbacks. The Rams QB would complement Steelers LB T.J. Watt and safety Minkah Fitzpatrick. “They don’t have a quarterback who can put them in a position to compete with Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, or Lamar in the AFC right now. So they’re kind of in this no-man’s land. With those star players, wondering if they can fix the quarterback position fast enough to compete while T.J. and Minkah are still at the height of their powers,” added Breer.

The 36-year-old QB had a completion percentage of 65.8 in the regular season, recording 3,762 yards and 20 touchdowns. Additionally, he threw four touchdowns in the postseason. While these numbers aren’t particularly eye-popping, his impact on the Rams was profound. He was the unquestioned MVP of the team, overcoming injuries at wide receiver and along the offensive line.

Given that, Breer may be right about Stafford. Only time will tell where Stafford and Russell Wilson will land in the 2025 season.
