  • NBA Announces Jayson Tatum Decision After Heat Game

On Thursday night, Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics suffered their first loss since March 12 at the hands of the Miami Heat. In the loss, Tatum recorded 16 points, seven assists, three rebounds, and a steal.

With only a handful of games remaining on the schedule, Tatum and the Celtics will look to finish the season strong as they prepare for their title defense. In doing so, the Celtics are hoping to be the first NBA team since the 2017-18 Golden State Warriors to repeat as champions.

The Celtics’ next game will be on Friday when they host the Phoenix Suns. However, on Thursday, the NBA made an announcement regarding Tatum.

In the third quarter of the Celtics’ game against the Heat, Tatum received a technical foul. However, the league announced on Thursday that they will rescind the Celtics star’s technical foul.

“Jayson Tatum’s (BOS) technical foul at 2:03 of the 3rd quarter on 4/2/25 (vs. MIA) has been rescinded upon league office review,” NBA Official wrote on X.

Hopefully for Tatum and the Celtics, he does not receive any more technical fouls this season as he already has 13 on the year, according to TeamRankings.com. If Tatum manages to receive 16 technical fouls by the end of the regular season, he will be suspended for one game

Following the recent announcement, the Celtics will shift their focus towards the rest of the regular season. Boston has lost just two games since the beginning of March, and they will hope to ride this momentum heading into the playoffs.
