Following the 2023 season, expectations were sky-high for the Houston Texans and CJ Stroud in 2024.
They made win-now moves to acquire veteran wide receiver Stefon Diggs and running back Joe Mixon. However, they didn’t do enough to address their offensive line, and as a result, it was a massive problem. It led to some in-season struggles for the team and a sophomore-year regression for CJ Stroud after his fantastic rookie season.
A new A to Z Sports mock draft shows the Texans aiming to avoid making that mistake again as they target help on the offensive line.
Texans land Missouri offensive lineman Armand Membou in a new mock draft
“The Texans offensive line has been an issue for years, and their last game in the playoffs highlighted just how poor it was. Armand Membou can plug in at guard or right tackle for the Texans and instantly upgrade the room, providing a quality starter Houston doesn’t have.”

Missouri’s Armand Membou is coming off a strong season. In 2024, he was not credited with allowing a sack or a quarterback hit. During his three-year college career, Membou spent all but one snap at right tackle, so it’s safe to assume that’s the position he will feel most comfortable at on day one in the NFL.
Many in the league, though, question whether sliding inside to guard would be better for his skill set. If the Texans took this approach, they would be able to go into training camp and allow him to compete at both spots, which would give them a better chance at getting their five best linemen on the field come Week one. If I had to take a guess, I think Membou would fit best as the right tackle for the Texans, given Titus Howard’s health and overall fit at the position being in question.
