The Chicago Bulls beat the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday for their 36th win of the season. The Bulls won by a final score of 131-117.
During the win, Bulls big man Nikola Vucevic made franchise history by recording his 201st double-double in a Chicago uniform. The veteran passed NBA icon and Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen, who had 200 double-doubles with the Bulls.
Vucevic put up 16 points and 11 rebounds against the Hornets. He shot 6-of-12 from the field, 2-of-5 from beyond the arc and 2-of-4 from the free-throw line in 33 minutes of action.
Pippen is considered the second-best player in Bulls franchise history behind NBA legend Michael Jordan. Pippen had two stints with the Bulls. He averaged 17.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 2.1 steals and 0.9 blocks with Chicago and made seven All-Star teams, seven All-NBA teams and 10 All-Defensive teams.
Behind Pippen and Jordan, the Bulls went 6-0 in the NBA Finals and three-peated twice in the ’90s.
Chicago acquired Vucevic from the Orlando Magic in March 2021. The center, who made two All-Star teams with the Magic, has a ways to go to catch Artis Gilmore, who has the most double-doubles in Bulls history with 288.
