Injury almost ruined Nick Kyrgios‘ career but he recovered from it and is finally set to make his comeback on home soil. He has planned to play at the Brisbane International, starting December 29.

On December 5, Kyrgios posted a clip on his X account to laud himself for giving his all to make a return. But while doing so, he also took a jibe at Iga Swiatek and Jannik Sinner.

The tennis community is well aware of the doping cases of Swiatek and Sinner. Swiatek and Sinner were contaminated by trimetazidine and clostebol respectively because of which Kyrgios has been brutally slamming them.

Kyrgios has questioned the International Tennis Integrity Agency’s (ITIA) verdicts for not giving severe punishments to Swiatek and Sinner as both avoided a lengthy ban. Sinner was provisionally suspended while Swiatek served a one-month ban. The prize money they won at the Indian Wells (Sinner) and the Cincinnati Open (Swiatek) were also taken away.

Nick Kyrgios, during a conversation with Alexander Bublik and coach Patrick Mouratoglou for the UTS Tour, revealed why he laughed when he heard he accomplished something Roger Federer did. Kyrgios narrated how he used to play basketball but his father made him play tennis.

Then at the age of 18, he won a Challenger and a week later he beat Rafael Nadal. Federer, who retired at the 2022 Laver Cup, had also won a Challenger at the age of 18.

Kyrgios took on the Swiss maestro seven times on the ATP Tour but he could win just one match. Though Kyrgios was 1-6, he didn’t let Federer win easily as five matches were pushed to a tie-breakers. The lone win came in their first encounter back in 2015 at the Madrid Open. They last met in the 2019 Laver Cup.
