Novak Djokovic is back on tour for the 2025 season. The Brisbane International will be his first official tournament since his Paris Masters final defeat to Jannik Sinner. To prepare for the next season, he spent 10 days working under his former rival and current coach Andy Murray.

Murray is not in Brisbane but he will be in Djokovic’s box at the Australian Open. For the Australian Open, there will be a three-week training session and Djokovic will be hoping to finally be able to script history by adding his 25th Grand Slam title to his trophy cabinet.

Djokovic, who lost to Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz in two Majors in 2024, is looking forward to performing in Melbourne and beating other best players of the world. He is expecting Murray to help overcome several young talents because the Scot himself has faced them before calling time on his career at the Paris Olympics.

In the 2024 season, Novak Djokovic prioritized Grand Slam events and skipped several ATP 500 and ATP 1000 tournaments. In those tournaments, he advanced to the final just two times (at Wimbledon and at Shanghai Masters). At the press conference ahead of Brisbane International, however, Djokovic revealed that his plan for the next season is to play more events.

In Brisbane, the 37-year-old will be participating in singles and doubles. He will start his campaign against Rinky Hijikata, while in doubles, he and Nick Kyrgios are set to square off against Alexander Erler and Andreas Mies.
