The Serbian star had to withdraw from his semifinal against Alexander Zverev due to a torn leg muscle. Concerns about his condition first arose during his quarterfinal match against Carlos Alcaraz, where he took a medical timeout. However, McEnroe commented during the match, suggesting the reigning Olympic champion might be exaggerating and said, “Don’t be fooled.“

Djokovic responded by sharing an MRI scan image on X (formerly Twitter) to prove the seriousness of his injury. This was seen as his way of silencing critics and defending himself.

When asked about McEnroe’s comments after his withdrawal, Djokovic appeared to take a subtle jab at the former player. His response showed he was not happy with the doubts surrounding his condition.
