GREEN BAY, Wis. – According to a source familiar with the matter, quarterback Jordan Love is set to start for the Green Bay Packers this Sunday when they face off against the Minnesota Vikings.
Love had indicated earlier in the week that he was “almost ready,” and it seems he was accurate. The Packers opted not to promote practice squad quarterback Sean Clifford to the active roster for the game.
Clifford had been brought up for the past two games due to Love being sidelined with a sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee.
With the need for a backup to Malik Willis, Clifford can be elevated three times throughout the season. The Packers did, however, elevate two cornerbacks, Robert Rochell and Kamal Hadden, which might suggest that cornerback Jaire Alexander could be unavailable.
