Phillies Reportedly Plan to Keep Top Prospects Andrew Painter and Aidan Miller

As the Philadelphia Phillies look for ways to strengthen their roster ahead of the trade deadline, speculation has risen around whether they might part with some of their top prospects. Despite the team’s need for improvement, recent reporting suggests the Phillies are not planning to move either Andrew Painter or Aidan Miller in any trade discussions.

According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, the organization is firmly against including Painter or Miller in any deals. This indicates that, unless something significant changes in the coming months, both prospects will remain key parts of the Phillies’ farm system.

Still, the door isn’t entirely closed. If a trade opportunity arises for a superstar player under team control for multiple seasons, the Phillies might be forced to reconsider. For now, though, the team appears committed to developing both players.

Miller, a highly regarded infield prospect, has shown promise early in his professional career but is currently facing some challenges at the Double-A level, batting .206 with two home runs in 68 at-bats. Despite this, his potential remains high.

Meanwhile, Painter, a hard-throwing right-hander who tops out at over 100 mph, is expected to make his MLB debut during the 2025 season. If all goes well, he could be wearing a Phillies jersey by July, potentially bolstering the rotation or bullpen during a crucial stretch.
